Published: August 31, 2022
Did you know Toronto is home to a thriving sneaker scene? While we may be known for our food scene, events like TIFF and Pride, The Raptors, and Drake, we’re also home to some of the coolest sneaker shops.
Looking for the coolest sneaker show in Toronto? Check out the Sneaker Con Toronto on September 17 and 18, located at the Enercare Centre by The Exhibition Grounds. No matter if you’re looking for some new kicks for school or the office or that rare pair of Jordans you can’t find anywhere else, we’ve rounded up a few of the city’s most-popular sneaker stores that are worth checking out.
OD Toronto
Head here for that hard-to-find sneaker you can’t find anywhere else…or just come and check out the rare kicks on display. At OD Toronto, on Queen Street West, you’ll find big name brands and rare sneakers and clothing. Check out Nike’s Back To The Future sneakers on display here which would set you back somewhere around $70,000. Located a short walk or bike ride from UP Express Union Station, and remember our bicycle policy has recently changed: only bicycles that can be folded or stored in an aircraft-ready bicycle box are permitted onboard UP Express. Our Station Ambassadors will be happy to show you where these need to be placed on board.
Hotbox Toronto
A must-visit for sneakerheads looking for those rare shoes, Hotbox Toronto has you covered when it comes to Nike, Jordans, Yeezys, Adidas, and more. Plus, the store, located just north of Yonge-Dundas Square, has a selection of vintage streetwear including denim jackets, sweatshirts, pants, and t-shirts, including some featuring your favourite sports teams. When back-to-school shopping in the city, remember teens and post-secondary students get 40% off standard Adult fare with PRESTO, while kids age 12 and under always ride free.
Nomad
From sneaker launches to contemporary menswear, Nomad on Spadina Avenue has COMME des GARÇONS, Nike, Vans, Converse and more for all your footwear needs. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also make an appointment in advance to guarantee your shopping experience. Even if you’re arriving to Toronto on a long layover, there is still plenty of time to get some sneaker shopping in and explore all this vibrant neighbourhood has to offer before heading back to the airport via UP Express.
Rerun Toronto
Located in Kensington Market, Rerun features both new and used sneakers and streetwear. Not only is it a great marketplace to sell your own kicks for cash, the store’s wide customer base means there is always new inventory coming in for hungry buyers making it a place you’ll want to visit often. Head here from UP Express Union Station by connecting to the TTC.
Adrift
While the majority of sneaker stores may cater to the basketball-loving crowd with their Jordans, Adrift is all about the sneaker-obsessed who’d rather be on a skateboard. Converse and Vans dominate the selection here, but you’ll also find low-top Nikes, apparel, and yes, even decks, trucks, and wheels. When your shopping is complete, head to nearby Graffiti Alley for the ultimate Instagram photoshoot with your new kicks, just a short stroll or TTC ride from UP Express Union Station.
Livestock
With two locations including one in Roncesvalles Village near UP Express Bloor Station, Livestock is not just one of Toronto’s best sneaker shops, but one of the most well regarded in the entire country. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of room in the overheard storage and luggage racks on board all UP Express trains for all your shopping purchases.
MILK Toronto
Milk is the theme at this cool apparel shop in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood. The storefront near UP Express Bloor Station takes its name seriously with milk crates, cartons and cereal boxes part of the MILK Toronto store’s décor, where it offers the world’s first premium retro Jordan/Nike sneaker subscription curated by MILK stylists.

Located in the heart of Yorkville, Capsule is the go-to for limited edition streetwear and footwear. Since launching the OG location in Markham in 2003, Capsule has fits for both men and women with a handy calendar to let you plan ahead for drops of coveted sneakers and apparel. With complimentary Wi-Fi on board every UP Express train, go ahead and show off your new kicks but uploading photos to Instagram while on board.

With multiple Toronto locations including one at the Toronto Eaton Centre, this footwear and sportswear chain offers more streetwear and sneakers typically found in traditional boutique sneaker stores. At Foot Locker you’ll find a wide selection of sneakers for men, women and kids. When you’ve had enough of sneaker shopping, UP Express makes it easy to get from downtown Toronto to other parts of the city via Bloor and Weston stations, with trains running frequently, seven days a week.
