Enrich their March Break by introducing your kids to the joy of live theatre! When you arrive downtown Toronto on the UP Express, you’ll have just a 15-minute walk along Front Street to the Young People’s Theatre. You’ll stroll by some iconic Toronto landmarks such as the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Flatiron Building, and St. Lawrence Market.

During March Break, the Young People’s Theatre will be staging several performances of The Darkest Dark. Inspired by astronaut Chris Hadfield’s bestselling children’s book, The Darkest Dark tells the story of young Chris struggling to overcome his fear of the dark while eagerly waiting to watch the first moon landing during the summer of 1969.

The show is aimed at kids aged 6-12 so it’s perfect for your school-ager, and a great way to incorporate a little edutainment into March Break. It can be a jumping off point to learn about Apollo 11, or just space in general. There are a lot of fun activities for kids on NASA’s SpacePlace website!
