The UP Express Airport Employee Program offers Toronto Pearson Airport ground employees a quick and convenient way to get to work with savings of 40-60% off standard fares.Effective November 13, 2024, the Airport Employee Program one-way trip fare between Union Station and Toronto Pearson Airport will reduce to $4.94, a 60% savings on standard fare. In addition, the cost of the weekly pass will also reduce to $39.50, and will continue to be valid for 7 days from the day the ticket is purchased and includes unlimited travel to/from Pearson for work.
Qualifications for Participating in the Program
The following are required to participate in the Airport Employee Program
- Proof of valid identification. Accepted ID includes:
- A YYZ / GTAA Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC), or
- An employee photo ID which clearly indicates “YYZ”, “GTAA”, or “Toronto Pearson”.
The following forms are not accepted: - Proof-of-employment letter
- Photo or copy of RAIC or employee ID
- Ontario Driver’s license
- An ID that is not your own
- Your employment must be based out of Toronto Pearson Airport. If your employment is based out of another airport, you will be required to pay regular fares when traveling on UP Express.
- Possession of a valid ticket that is activated prior to boarding.
Three Easy Steps to Buy Airport Employee Tickets
To participate in the program, follow these three simple steps:
- Visit the UP Express Service Counter at Pearson Airport Terminal 1. Show your valid ID card* and complete a one page application form.
- Within 10 business days, you will receive an email confirming your registration in the program and instructions on how to set up an account to buy airport employee tickets.
- Log in to the UP Express Website to buy airport employee tickets quickly and easily. Airport employee discounted tickets are no longer sold at UP Express Service Counters.
Be sure to carry your valid ID card and ticket while travelling on UP Express.
Airport Employee Discounted Ticket
Airport employees save between 40-60% off standard adult fares. The UP Express mobile app is decommissioned. Discounted tickets can only be purchased by registered Airport Employees through the UP Express Website. Airport Employee discounted tickets are no longer sold at the service counters at Union and Pearson stations.
A One-Way ticket is valid for a single trip between any two stations. One-Way tickets expire two (2) days after the purchase date. Airport employee One-Way tickets do not need to be self-activated.
A weekly pass ($39.50) is valid for unlimited travel on UP Express for 7 days. Airport employee weekly passes do not need to be self-activated as they expire 7 days from the day of purchase. A monthly pass is no longer offered.
Airport employees must have their e-ticket scanned at Union or Pearson Station prior to boarding (or after arrival when travelling from Bloor or Weston Stations).

Airport Employee Program Participation
Participation in the UP Express Airport Employee Program is limited to employees based out of Toronto Pearson. If your employment is based out of another airport, you will be required to pay regular fares when traveling on UP Express.
If you’re an employee working on Toronto Pearson Airport grounds and you don’t have a valid ID card, we encourage you to work with your employer to obtain one that meets the program requirements.
Best practices when travelling on UP Express as an Airport Employee
When travelling on UP, please ensure you have a valid Airport Employee ID card or a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) ID handy before you board.
Fare pre-validation are performed all day at Union and Pearson stations. Please allow yourself a few extra minutes to board the train. Airport employees must have their e-ticket scanned at Union or Pearson Station prior to boarding (or after arrival when travelling from Bloor or Weston Stations).
Anyone attempting to use an Airport Employee discounted fare product that is travelling without a valid ID will be required to pay a full fare, and/or a fine.

Pay or Dispute a Fine
If you received a Notice of Violation, you have 15 days to either pay an UP Express fine or dispute it.
